As children you may recall playing with a spinning top. What is known to be the oldest toy in history and typically for the impecunious is easily transformed through craftsmanship while keeping its simplicity in concept and design. Its intentions are to keep spinning steadily while maintaining balance within itself. Simple, yet complex and intriguing.
Our professional endeavors in making wine is no different. Transforming simple ingredients such as grapes and elevating it into a handcrafted elixir, creating a shared experience for open conversation and enjoyment.
We named our winery TOP, after this toy. It reminds us of what we want to achieve in our personal lives. Our pursuit to appreciate the simplicities of life, although in continuous motion - like a spinning top - we strive to maintain balance and enjoy the moment.
- WINES -
We produce Rhône varietal wines from highly acclaimed vineyards throughout California. Our focus is on Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Graciano, Roussanne, and Grenache Blanc, occasionally dabbling with other varieties that may fall into our hands. We make a total of eight different wines, most of which are blends.
Wines are released twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. Most of our wines are allocated to wine club members and spoken for upon release. We do however hold a percentage of each release to host visitors in our tasting room. Please use the VISIT link in our home page to book a tasting experience with us.

STANLEY BARRIOS - PROPRIETOR AND WINEMAKER
Stanley was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. While working at a financial firm in Los Angeles he began collecting and sharing wines with associates. He formed wine tasting groups and competitive tastings with colleagues, further expanding his knowledge in wines from around the globe. In 2013 while still living and working in Los Angeles, Stanley did a harvest internship in Paso Robles where he learned the craft of winemaking. The following year he purchased four tons of grapes from west side Paso Robles, which later became the first vintage of TOP wines.
ELENA MARTINEZ - PROPRIETOR
Elena was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She worked several years in hospitality, which is where she first discovered her passion for wine. In 2005 she moved to the Willamette Valley to explore the wines of Oregon while shifting her career focus on real estate as a broker. In 2007 she moved back to Los Angeles to study oriental medicine and acupuncture before moving full-time to Paso Robles in 2019. Elena’s management and hospitality experience have become the core of what TOP is today.
